Oriol Gomis Bellmunt received the degree in industrial engineering from the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (ETSEIB), Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the UPC in 2007. In 1999, he joined Engitrol S.L. where he worked as Project Engineer in the automation and control industry. Since 2004, he has been with the Electrical Engineering Department, UPC where he is a Professor and participates in the CITCEA-UPC Research Group. Since 2020, he is an ICREA Academia researcher. In 2022, he co-founded the start-up eROOTS focused on the analysis of modern power systems. His research interests include the fields linked with electrical machines, power electronics, and renewable energy integration in power systems. He is a Fellow of IEEE.
