Carlos Alegre Aldeano received a Physics bachelor’s degree from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain, in 2022, and an Industrial Engineering bachelor’s degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - ETSEIB, Spain, in 2022. He then received a master’s degree in Electric Power Systems and Drives in June 2024 at UPC-ETSEIB, after being granted a cum-laude mark in his thesis “Integration of an AC-OPF solver in GridCal”. This thesis, started when he joined eRoots in September 2023, was the result of the SIROCO project developed for the Spanish TSO Redeia. Although his main work has been on power flows and optimization, he is also involved in the documentation of static and dynamic models of electrical components in the framework of the COLib project for CRESYM.
